Becoming an EPA Assessor

Careers in End Point Assessment

ICA is a registered Apprenticeship End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) that is actively seeking to expand our network of end-point assessors to partner with us in delivering our services. We are offering Independent End-point Assessors (IEPAs) the opportunity to work on a flexible basis to compliment other work commitments.

As an IEPA, you will be responsible for carrying out end-point assessment activities under the conditions, timescales and arrangements set by us as the End-point Assessment Organisation and in accordance with the assessment plan for the apprenticeship standard. 

The role of End Point Assessment is to assess an apprentice's competence and knowledge against the industry specific standards through the review of written portfolios/projects and face-face competency-based assessments.

RECRUITING NOW - Regulatory Compliance Officer (Level 4)

Key Requirements standard specific -

  • This should include regulatory expertise, at either a policy or delivery level, of not less than 3 years post qualification.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST REQUIRED – Counter Fraud Investigator (Level 4)

This is a new standard that we will be assessing from 2023 onwards. We are planning training and induction through 2022 ready to go live from Jan 2023!

Key Requirements standard specific –

  • Have evidence of ongoing fraud investigation CPD during the past two years.
  • Have evidence of ongoing assessment-related CPD during the past two years.
  • satisfy the criteria outlined in this EPA plan

Requirements of an IEPA

  • All Applicants must have credible expertise in regulatory delivery, relative to the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours detailed in the Standard they are applying to assess, and have kept themselves up-to-date with developments in regulatory practice.
  • Prior competency-based assessment experience is not mandatory but is desirable. You must hold or be working towards an independent assessor qualification.
  • Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to produce reports and student feedback. 
  • A key requirement of the role will be the availability to conduct UK based face to face and/or online interviews during the UK working day. 
  • Assessors will be expected to complete relevant training and attend the required number of EPAO’s standardisation and training events per year.

Support

ICA will provide training and ongoing support for all our End Point Assessors which will ensure that they are kept up to date with the assessment requirements and the quality assurance procedures. 

Employment Conditions 

Assessors will be paid a set fee for each End Point Assessment conducted. The fee covers all assessment activity, grading, reporting and associated administration. 

End-point Assessors must not have any current relationship with the apprentice or employer involved in the apprenticeship.
